Sophie Scott OAM, Associate Professor (Adj) Author and Speaker
Sophie Scott is an international speaker, award-winning broadcast journalist, educator and TedX speaker. She specialises in using the latest scientific research to help people maximise their human potential, mindset, and mental health. She has an extensive social media presence with her work reaching more than 100,000 people per day.
As an Adjunct Associate Professor at Notre Dame University Medical School, Sophie lectures in science communication and was recently awarded a Medal (OAM) in the Order of Australia General Division for her service to broadcast media and community health. She has written two books – Live a Longer Life and Road Testing Happiness and won numerous awards for journalism as National Medical Reporter for the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, including a prestigious Eureka Award for medical reporting.
Sophie is on the Advisory Board of the Australian National Mental Health Prize, sits on Australia’s National Mental Health Commission’s advisory board on stigma and works with the University of Melbourne’s Contemplative Studies Centre. She is an ambassador for Bowel Cancer Australia, Pain Australia and is a patient reviewer for the British Medical Journal.
